Set Goals to Go Further
Intention, otherwise known as goal-setting, is one of the most powerful tools available to us, both in our careers and in our lives. It truly is one of the keys to success. Aristotle said, “Man is a goal seeking animal. His life only has meaning if he is reaching out and striving for his goals.” Studies show that the most successful people are not just those who work hard, but those who set clear goals and intentions for themselves on a daily basis.

Americans today work harder and longer than ever. Our days are so full that we scarcely have a moment to breathe. So why are so few of us achieving the things we want? The problem is not that we’re unwilling to work hard; rather, it’s that we don’t know how to focus our mental energy on our desired objective. Disorganization, scattered thinking, and lack of clear perspective are all obstacles to success. I equate this stagnant, frustrating state to being lost on a tree-lined country road: you know where you want this road to take you, but because you’re hemmed in on all sides, you have no idea if you’re headed in the right direction.
